Cellier FreeCell — privacy and terms
Last updated: 14 September 2026
Version française — the two versions say the same thing; the French one was written first.
Privacy policy
Cellier FreeCell asks nothing of you, and we keep nothing about you. Everything the game remembers stays on your phone. One thing talks to the network: Google's ad service, which starts with the game and sends Google what an ad service measures — four types of data, named below. No ad is ever shown unless you ask for one.
Who publishes Cellier FreeCell
Cellier FreeCell is developed by Fial Labs. For any question about this policy, or to exercise your rights: fiallabs@gmail.com
What Cellier FreeCell collects
Fial Labs collects nothing. The game does not ask for an account, a name, an email address or a phone number. It does not request your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera, and we have installed no analytics tool, no crash reporter and no tracking code of our own.
Google's ad service, which the game embeds, does collect data. It starts when the game launches, whether or not you ever watch an ad, and it is the only third-party library in the app. Because of it, the Google Play listing shows four types of data as collected and shared. Here they are, under the names Play uses:
- Device or other identifiers — your device's advertising identifier and its App Set ID;
- Approximate location — derived from your IP address, not from GPS. The game never asks for Android's location permission and never reads your position; Google infers a region from the network address that every connection carries;
- App interactions — the launch of the game, your taps in it, and the playback of ad videos;
- Diagnostics — launch time, freezes, energy use.
All four go to Google and to nobody else, for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention and security. They travel encrypted in transit (TLS). They are not optional inside the game: the ad service starts with it, and the only way to limit them is through your device's ad settings, described below. Google keeps them under its own policy; we never see them and receive no copy.
What Cellier FreeCell stores on your device
Everything is stored locally, in the app's private storage, and is never transmitted anywhere:
- your settings — language, four-color deck, automatic moves to the foundations, one-tap play, left or right hand, sound, vibration, the card back you chose;
- your stock of hints;
- your statistics — deals won, deals finished by the solver, deals abandoned, deals of the day, best move count and best time;
- the deal in progress — its number, the moves played, the time.
All of this disappears entirely if you uninstall the app or clear its data from Android's settings. We hold no copy of it, and we cannot restore it.
The solver
The game checks that a deal can be won, offers hints and can show a solution. All of that is computed on your phone. No position, no move and no deal number is ever sent to a server: there is no server.
The recovery code
Cellier FreeCell can give you a code that contains your progress, to carry it to another device. This code is generated and read entirely on your phone. It goes through no server, nobody else knows it, and we cannot recover it for you.
Advertising
Cellier FreeCell never forces an ad on you. No ad appears between deals, at launch, or at any moment you did not choose. The game offers rewarded ads in two places only, and always at your request: to refill your stock of hints, and to see the solution of a deal. In both cases you can decline; seeing a solution can also be paid with hints from your stock.
These ads are served by Google AdMob. We would rather say it precisely: the ad service starts when the game launches, collects your consent where it is required, then loads an ad in advance so that it is ready if you ask for it. That loading contacts Google as soon as the game starts, even if you never watch an ad. On that occasion, and each time an ad plays, AdMob collects the four types of data listed above — identifiers, approximate location from your IP address, interactions, diagnostics — along with technical details such as device type and Android version, to select and measure the ads shown. Everything is sent over an encrypted connection (TLS) and processed by Google under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. We have no access to it and receive no copy of it.
Your consent and your ad preferences
If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent form is shown to you at first launch, before any ad. You can change your choice at any time from the game's settings, under “Ad preferences”.
On any Android device, you can also reset or delete your advertising identifier, or opt out of personalized advertising, from your device's settings (Settings › Google › Ads).
Android permissions
The game declares two permissions on its own behalf:
INTERNET— for the ad service: loading an ad in advance, and showing it when you ask. Nothing else in the game uses the network;VIBRATE— for the small vibration when you pick up and put down a card. It can be turned off in the settings.
The AdMob library brings its own, which we prefer to name rather than hide: ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE (whether the network is available), AD_ID and ACCESS_ADSERVICES_* (the advertising identifier and Android's advertising services), WAKE_LOCK and FOREGROUND_SERVICE (used by Google while an ad plays). None of these permissions is classed as “dangerous” by Android: they give access neither to your files, nor to your contacts, nor to your device's position. The approximate location Google records comes from your IP address, not from any of these permissions.
What can be bought in the game
Nothing. There is no real-money purchase, no payment, and no banking data. The stock of hints refills by winning deals, or through an ad if you choose. Card backs unlock by playing, never through an ad or a payment.
Children
Cellier FreeCell is intended for a general audience and is not designed for children under 13. The app is not enrolled in Google Play's “Designed for Families” program. We collect no data ourselves, about children or anyone else. What Google's ad service collects, listed above, applies to every player alike; that is one more reason the game is reserved for people aged 13 or over.
Your rights
The European General Data Protection Regulation gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection over personal data concerning you.
We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing to consult, correct or erase on our side. The game's information is on your device, under your sole control. For data processed by Google for advertising, requests go directly to Google, through myaccount.google.com. The step-by-step procedure is in Delete your data, below.
You may still write to us at fiallabs@gmail.com with any question, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Transfers outside the European Union
Our own code transmits nothing. The data Google AdMob collects may be processed outside the European Union, under the conditions described in Google's privacy policy.
Delete your data
This is the section Google Play links to under “delete data”. It names every piece of data that exists, where it lives, how to delete it, and what remains afterwards.
1. What is on your device — your settings, your stock of hints, your statistics, the deal in progress, and any recovery code you generated. To delete all of it: uninstall the app, or open Android's Settings › Apps › Cellier FreeCell › Storage and choose “Clear storage”. Everything is deleted at once, and nothing of it is kept anywhere: there is no server and no copy at Fial Labs. We cannot restore it.
2. What Google's ad service holds — the four types listed above (identifiers, approximate location, interactions, diagnostics). We hold none of it and cannot delete it for you; Google can. On your device, Settings › Google › Ads lets you delete your advertising identifier, after which apps no longer receive it, or reset it, after which what was collected before is no longer tied to the new one. For the data Google keeps under its own policy, use Google's own tools at myaccount.google.com, or write to Google as described in its privacy policy.
3. What Fial Labs keeps — nothing. There is no account to close and no record to erase on our side, so there is nothing you need to ask us to delete. If you write to fiallabs@gmail.com to ask, we will confirm it in writing.
Changes
This policy may change. The date of the last update appears at the top of this document, and any change will be published at this same address before it takes effect in the app.
Terms of use
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the Cellier FreeCell mobile application, published by Fial Labs. Installing or using the application means you accept these terms.
2. Access and minimum age
Cellier FreeCell is free and intended for a general audience. It is not designed for children, and its use is reserved for people aged 13 or over. A minor under 18 must obtain the consent of the person holding parental authority.
3. What you may do
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the application, for your own entertainment, on devices you own or control.
4. What you may not do
- decompile, disassemble or attempt to extract the application's source code, except to the extent permitted by law;
- modify the application, or distribute a modified version of it;
- resell, rent or redistribute it outside the official app stores;
- use automated or circumventing means to alter progress, the stock of hints or unlockable content.
5. Hints and card backs
- The stock of hints has no monetary value. It cannot be bought with real money, resold or exchanged, and gives no right to any refund or consideration outside the application.
- An ad is watched only if you decide to. Watching a rewarded ad refills the stock of hints or shows a solution; nothing in the game is held against you if you decline.
- What unlocks never changes the game. Card backs are decorative: they alter neither the deals, nor the rules, nor the solver.
- Hints and card backs are tied to the local data of your device. Their loss, whatever the cause, gives no right to compensation.
6. Your data is yours — and you are its sole keeper
Fial Labs keeps no data of yours on any server, and the game's own code transmits none; what Google's ad service collects is described in the privacy policy above. One consequence follows, which we would rather state in plain words:
- uninstalling the application, or clearing its data, permanently deletes your progress, your statistics and your stock of hints;
- the recovery code is the only way to carry them elsewhere. It is computed on your device and known only to you: we cannot recover it, nor restore lost progress.
7. The deals
Deals use the classic numbering, 1 to 1,000,000, and every deal the game offers has been checked as winnable by its solver, on your device. A few numbers in that numbering are known to have no solution: the game says so before dealing them. This check is an aid, not a contractual guarantee: the game is provided as is.
8. Advertising
The application offers rewarded ads served by Google AdMob, only at your request, in the two places described in the privacy policy. No ad is forced. The availability of an ad depends on Google and on the network; when no ad is available, the game says so and nothing is taken from you.
9. Availability, changes and discontinuation
The application is provided as is, with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability or absence of defects. We may modify it, suspend its distribution or stop maintaining it at any time. A version already installed keeps working: it depends on no server to run, only the ads do.
10. Intellectual property
The application, its code, its drawings, its sounds, its texts and the name Cellier FreeCell belong to Fial Labs and are protected by intellectual property law. These terms transfer no such right to you, beyond the right of use in article 3. The rules of the game of FreeCell themselves belong to no one.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we cannot be held liable for indirect damage resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the application, nor for the loss of local data, whose backup through the recovery code is your responsibility.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights that French law grants to consumers, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity.
12. Changes to the terms
These terms may be modified. The date of the last update appears at the top of the document, and any modified version is published at this address. If you do not accept a modification, it is up to you to stop using the application and uninstall it.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable settlement, the French courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you keep the benefit of the mandatory protective rules of the country of your habitual residence.
